140th Meeting - Women's Day Meeting

140th Meeting was held on 05/03/2012 at Computer Science Lecture Room. This was the "Women's Day Meeting" of the year.  The meeting was begun at 5.40 p.m. 

Lot of space and opportunities were given to the ladies in this meeting. And the utilized the given opportunities very well to express their thoughts and opinions on burning topics such as Gender equality, How women should be treated in the society, etc. 

Toastmaster for the day was Sandareka Wickramanayake. Then the interesting table topics session in the theme Women’s day was conducted by Nirmala.  Pasan Pethiyagoda delivered his 5th  speech in the CC manual and Dinesh Kenady evaluated his speech. Hasini Abeywikrama  was the general evaluator for the day. Members enjoyed expressing their views in different ways about Ladies in this meeting.

139th Meeting - Big Match Meeting

Big match heat is everywhere. So what about gavel ground? 139^th Gavel meeting was held on the theme “Big Match”. It was at 5 p.m onwards on 27^th of February at a Tutorial room of L-Block. Battle was begun even before the meeting was started cheering for their own alma-maters.

Attendees were asked to come wearing their school t-shirts or school colors to show their support for schools. Niles Perera, President called the meeting to order. The round robin session was on the topic “What is the role of a girl in big matches”. “Motivate boys” was the main duty assigned for girls by the audience. Then table topic session was conducted by Akalanka, who was the most suitable fellow to conduct such an energetic meeting.   Table topic session was really interesting because all the speakers had bunch of experiences about big matches to share. Next, Sahcille Athapaththu gave his second speech in the prepared speech session. It was a wonderful speech with a rich content. Another enjoyable meeting was adjourned by the president leaving sweet memories in attendees’ hearts. 

138th Meeting - Valentines Meeting

138th Meeting was held on 16/02/2012 at Computer Science Lecture Room. This was the club’s Valentines meeting.  The meeting was begun at 5.47 p.m.

The evening was magical, as the love had filled the air. Lot of humorous thoughts and personal experience were shared among the crowd by the speakers. Toastmaster for the day was Pasan Pethiyagoda. Then the interesting table topics session in the theme of Valentine was conducted by Hasitha Kulathunga.  Amila Gamage delivered his 3^rd  speech in the CC manual and Hasini Abeywikrama evaluated his speech.Raja was the general evaluator for the day. Members enjoyed the Special “Lovely” valentines meeting.

137th Meeting

137th Meeting was held on 30/01/2012 at Computer Science Lecture Room.  The meeting was begun at 5.51 p.m.

Round Robin session was quite interesting and the sarcastic nature of the speeches embellished the session. Toastmaster for the day was Kenady. Then the interesting table topics session was conducted by Isuru Pasan. Chathuranga Kannangara  did his second speech in the CC manual and Pasan Pethiyagoda evaluated his speech .

136th Meeting - Workshop Meeting

136th Meeting was held on  02/01/2012 at Computer Science Lecture Room  in Sumanadasa Building. This was the club’s first meeting in the new year and was a Workshop Meeting.  The meeting was begun at 5.41 p.m.

This meeting was conducted in the form of a workshop targeting the contestants of the Speech Olympiad 2012.Mr. Dev Wijetunga, a renowned public speaker and a past president of the Millennium Toastmaster was the resource person for this meeting. He shared his views in different aspects of public speaking  to assist the contestants. Toastmaster for the day was Chathuranga Kannangara and Pasan Pethiyagoda, the winner of the Speech Olympiad 2010 delived his winning speech.
